Our History

Established in 1976, we gained our experience in the marine industry and have since expanded into roofing, glass fibre flat roofing supplies and moulding, lining and flooring applications – a result of our expertise and a testimony to our skills.

• Artisan Environmental has over 20-years experience in asbestos management, training, analytical works and methods. Strandek works with Artisan Surveyors when expertise is required for asbestos.  Addressing the needs at all stages of a project, Artisan Environmental can offer the following asbestos services: Management Surveys, R&D Surveys, Re-inspections, Air Testing, Removal Works Management, Licensed Removal Works Audit.

We carry £5 million in Public and Employee Liability insurance.

Strandek® GRP Systems have been utilised for since 1976. We apply the highest standards to our work. Almost all systems are covered by FCA-regulated insurance backed or company backed guarantees and we’re always available to provide any installation or technical advice required.

We take the current pandemic very seriously and have developed our own Strandek COVID19 PolicyCovid 19 policy in line with U.K. policy.  This means we’ve taken a number of adjustments to the way we work, helping to minimise its spread and impact and operate in a safe and effective manner.

Our approach: As a company, we are fully committed to the health and wellbeing of both our staff and customers alike. Implementing a quality management system, we strive to maintain the highest standards in possible and believe our record is a testimony to this.

Training: We recognise that prevention is better than a cure, so submit to recognised training schemes, covering areas such as CSCS, asbestos awareness, fire awareness, first aid, manual handling, confined space entry and other areas. By doing this, we hope to ensure that our employees are fully aware of the risks involved in conducting this work.

Accreditations: We are accredited with the following independent, trusted and reputable organisations: Safe Contractor, CSCS, CHAS and Construction Line.

Risk assessments: Every job carries some degree of risk, so before conducting any work, we conduct thorough risk and COSHH assessments in compliance with HSE regulations.

Audits: We perform audits to ensure that staff are fully trained, equipment is maintained properly and standards are met.

Environment: GRP (glass re-enforced plastic/polyester) is a low-cost, sustainable alternative to plastics, wood and metals. With lifetimes of over 30 years, the use of GRP, whether it’s for lining and coating or roofing and flooring helps to limit the consumption of existing resources by preventing full replacements. As a company, we strive to reduce our footprint by encouraging a cycle to work scheme, as well as offering sustainable products such as green roofing and sustainable roofing.

Waste & recycling: every project is likely to generate some waste material. Therefore we take every opportunity to recycle that material or as a last resort, we will dispose of it using an approved company.
